A LITTLE about oUR RESCUE

We are located in Far Rockways, NY. 

Christine Drakatos started the Far Rockway rescue project in 2008 by catching feral dogs that roam the Rockaways. It all started when she got an e-mail about a dog and her puppies living in woods near the crime-ridden Edgemere Houses. She quickly discovered the stray dogs were actually packs of feral canines. 8 years later, there are over 300 dogs and cats saved from Far Rockway alone.

Not only does Christine rescue strays and abandoned pets, she also takes care of animals in need from the neighborhood. When Christine sees an animal in harsh living conditions, she offers a helping hand. She provides food, shelter and vet care.  In some cases, she would even clean up their yard.
